I'm a newby and gladly paid my application fee in April '09. During the summer the exact place I was applying for came up and I applied graciously for it. I had been there before and love it . The place in Mexico is Melaque on the coast..its a small town very old school but I love it. I replied and said that i'd been there for almost two years off and on and would love to go back. I haven't heard a thing and can't find where my apply is or if it was read but its not on there anymore. The house sit isn't until April 2010. Is there a way I can tell if it was read. I do have the username of the applicant but don't want to bug them if they've already found someone. Thank You for any help Patricia Opps I should have put this in a different catagory....

Check your mailbox by clicking on the mailbox icon on your main page. Then you should be able to see a listing of the messages you've sent. If the name of the person you responded to is in red, that means they have opened your note. If it is still black, that means they have not yet read it.
We have been successfully housesitting for less than a year and I have always followed up with a second note about 3-5 days after my initial contact to the homeowner. Basically, I look at my second note in the same way I would send a followup if applying for a job. It has worked for me in the past and I hope it can work for you as well.
