Many people would like to get responses from homeowners but often the homeowner doesn't reply.

Not having used the homeowner side, I don't know how it works, but if I had 20 or more responses, I would think it hard (and a pain in the neck) to reply to that many.

Why not provide homeowners with functionality that collects all respondents into a single address book which they can then pen up a letter and send a "reply to all".. That should make it very easy, and may increase the number of homeowners replying... it would likely be a form response to those not picked, but better than nothing. Does this exist yet?

Kevin
http://www.kevinandaliciashea.com/

I have been successful in locating a housesitting gig, but only because I listed a bunch of cities in multiple states. But I am limited by 255 characters in listing cities, so I cannot list every city in the 10 states that I am considering for my next one.

The individuals whom I am now sitting for (for 6 months) stated that they thought that they could only find sitters by listing nearby cities.

How can the site be improved so that individuals who are willing to travel to numerous states can be actively considered for gigs in all of the states?

Are other people effected by this limitation?

Owen

We just changed the system so that sent messages older then 30 days go into the
sent2 basket. Also waste (deleted) messages older then 30 days go into the waste2 basket.

So you just have current messages in waste and sent. You can recover from both
waste baskets.

Most members like to keep a record so we think this should suit most users.

A facility to allow sitters to upload references is planned for release. For privacy reasons this will only be able to be viewed by logged on homeowners.

If you have any suggestios on this - they are welcome. We have decided to allow upload of files of the following formats .doc .txt .pdf .jpg . gif (in case something is scanned)

It will be along the lines of the current photo gallery - except it will be a reference library

I have replied to 4 postings and have received no responses of any kind. The first one was in the summer and is still being advertised. Recently I created a website with info and photos of us and replied to 3 more.
Is it normal for people to reply as in, "Sorry, it's filled" or any kind of response. It feels weird to send off a nice response and never hear anything. It makes me wonder if they got it and/or if I am doing anything wrong.

We have added a new Calendar function to your members area - click Calendar from your members area after login to add your existing commitments into the future. There have been a number of requests from sitters for this feature over the years - especially the sitters who are in demand.

Then homeonwers can clearly see the windows when the sitter is available by cliking on their calendar from their profile.

You can turn your calander on or off at any time from the calandar function.

Cheers

Ian
